This market reports focuses on catfish in the US. It deals with harvests, prices, markets and imports of the species.
The average price of fillets –basa and panga- imported in September was USD 3,435/t, down 7% on that of August and up 25% on that of September 2016. During the first nine months of the year the average was USD 3,306/t, up 10% in value on that of the same period last year.

In September, incoming volumes of frozen fillets of basa and panga reported 3,868 tonnes, worth USD 13,286,000 CIF, down 72% in volume and 74% in value on those imported in the previous month and down 69% in volume and 61% in value on those imported in September 2016.

In the period, they totalled 85,114 tonnes and USD 281,366,000, down 13% in volume and 4% in value on those of 2016.
