This report analyses different aspects of prices, markets and exports of itoyori surimi and derived products in Japan.

Itoyori Surimi

Price

The average CIF price of itoyori surimi was JPY 335/kg at Japanese Customs in December, similar to that of the previous month and up 6% on that of December 2016. In the year, the average was JPY 328/kg, up 3% in value on that of 2016.

Markets

Japanese imports of itoyori surimi in the month analysed reached 2,331 tonnes, worth about JPY 782 million CIF, down 4% in volume and value on those of November and up 25% in volume and 32% in value on those of December 2016

In the year, they totalled 20,913 tonnes and JPY 6,850 million, up 2% in volume and 5% in value on those of 2016.

Thailand was the main supplier of itoyori surimi during the period. Sales amounted to 8,021 tonnes, worth about JPY 2,929 million CIF. India provided 5,409 tonnes.
