This report focuses on pelagic species catch volumes for reduction. This report analyses the activity on the market, the prices and stocks of fishmeal in South America and key markets. There is a special section for fish oil.

Norway

Through week 28, they destined 514,115 tonnes of fish for reduction at an average price of NOK 1.52/kg, up 30% on those destined for such purpose during the same period in the previous year.

Prices and markets

China

At the beginning of week 28 inventories registered 141,000 tonnes. Volumes leaving the warehouses reached 27,000 tonnes during the previous week.

Peru

With little over 2.3 million tonnes of anchoveta volumes, it seems difficult to fulfill the quota. Following this, the production of fishmeal will not reach expected volumes and this means some pressure on prices.

Other origins

Chilean 67% fishmeal is at USD 1,300, and that produced in Iceland, 70%, at USD 1,430, both FOB Germany.
