This market reports focuses on catfish in the US. It deals with harvests, prices, markets and imports of the species.
The average price of fillets –basa and panga- imported in July was USD 3,391/t, up 2% on that of June and 9% on that of July 2015. During the first seven months of the year the average was USD 3,054/t, down 8% in value on that of the same period last year.

In July, incoming volumes of frozen fillets of basa and panga reported 10,644 tonnes, worth USD 36,092,000 CIF, down 15% in volume and 14% in value on those imported in the previous month and up 16% and 27% respectively on those imported in July 2015.

In the period, they totalled 74,971 tonnes and USD 228,943,000, up 17% in volume and 7% in value on those of 2015.
