This market reports focuses on catfish in the US. It deals with harvests, prices, markets and imports of the species.
The average price of fillets –basa and panga- imported in February was USD 3,926/t, up 4% on that of January and up 24% on that of February 2017. In the first two months, the average was USD 3,843/t, up 24% on that of the same period last year.

In February, incoming volumes of frozen fillets of basa and panga reported 5,558 tonnes, worth USD 21,822,000 CIF, down 421 in volume and 17% in value on those imported in the previous month and down 20% in volume and similar in value to those imported in February 2017.

In the first two months of the year, they totalled 12,552 tonnes, worth USD 48,232,000, down 34% in volume and 18% in value on those of the same two months in 2017.
