This market reports focuses on catfish in the US. It deals with harvests, prices, markets and imports of the species.
The average CIF price of fillets –basa and panga- imported in September was USD 2,741/t, down 6% on that of August and 7% on that of September 2015. During the first nine months of the year the average was USD 3,001/t, down 8% on that of the same period last year.

In September, incoming volumes of frozen fillets of basa and panga reported 12,442 tonnes, worth USD 34,104,000 CIF, up 26% in volume and 18% in value on those imported in the previous month and up 52% and 42% respectively on those imported in September 2015.

In the period, they totalled 97,314 tonnes and USD 292,021,000, up 22% in volume and 12% in value on those of 2015.
