This market reports focuses on catfish in the US. It deals with harvests, prices, markets and imports of the species.
The average price of fillets –basa and panga- imported in March was USD 3,002/t, down 5% on that of February and up 4% on that of March 2016. During the first three months of the year the average was USD 3,068/t, up 7% in value on that of the same period last year.

In March, incoming volumes of frozen fillets of basa and panga reported 5,260 tonnes, worth USD 15,789,000 CIF, down 24% in volume and 28% in value on those imported in the previous month and down 41% and 39% respectively on those imported in March 2016.

During the three months, they reached 24,323 tonnes and USD 74,635,000, down 24% and 19% in volume and value on those of 2016.
