This market reports focuses on catfish in the US. It deals with harvests, prices, markets and imports of the species.
The average price of fillets –basa and panga- imported in April was USD 2,948/t, up 2% on that of March and down 13% on that of April 2015. During the first four months of the year the average was USD 2,886/t, down 16% on that of the same period last year.

In April, incoming volumes of frozen fillets of basa and panga reported 9,022 tonnes, worth USD 26,600,000 CIF, up 1% in volume and 3% in value on those imported in the previous month and down 3% in volume and 16% in value on those imported in April 2015.

In the period, they totalled 41,199 tonnes and USD 118,891,000, up 13% in volume but down 5% in value on those of 2015.
