This market reports focuses on catfish in the US. It deals with harvests, prices, markets and imports of the species.
The average price of fillets –basa and panga- imported in February was USD 3,173/t, up 4% on that of January and 11% on that of February 2016. During the first two months of the year the average was USD 3,087/t, down 8% in value on that of the same period last year.

In February, incoming volumes of frozen fillets of basa and panga reported 6,909 tonnes, worth USD 21,921,000 CIF, down 43% in volume and 41% in value on those imported in the previous month and down 44% in volume and 38% in value on those imported in February 2016.

During the two months, they reached 19,063 tonnes and USD 58,846,000, down 18% and 12% in volume and value on those of 2015.
