Vietnamese Seafood Products Earned Gold

QVD seafood products earned a gold medal at the American Masters of Taste competition held recently in the California.
The American Master of Taste is part of the Chefs in America Foundation and was created to recognize great American chefs and food quality in North America. The association said the award was good news for the Vietnamese seafood industry, which saw exports and prices fall last year.
The winning products which are distributed by QVD United States include Basa Vina Pearl Swai Loins, Basa Vina Pearl Fillets, Vina Blue Barramundi Fillets and Basa Vina Pearl Swai.
QVD winning products were exported to over 30 countries and territories last year. Swai from Vietnam is a USD 1.34 billion industry, of which QVD has a significant share.

QVD was established in Vietnam in 1999 as a small factory in Can Tho by Bui Duc Quy and his father, who have more than 50 years of combined experience in the farming of Pangasius. For generations, QVD has been dedicated to raising, processing and delivering high-quality seafood products to customers all over the world.
Today, QVD operates its primary headquarters in the United States with a dedicated team to support a global customer base. The Vietnam operations now include a 7,000-square-meter factory and a 5,400-metric-ton cold storage facility. Recently, QVD broke ground on a second fish factory and is expected to complete the new facility later in 2009.
