The number of Queens MSC certified products is growing steadily

Innovative and Sustainable Fresh Frozen Fish

  (NETHERLANDS, 6/23/2010)

With many years experience with fresh frozen products and sophisticated logistic processes, Queens Products BV has specialized in sourcing and developing new products that are attuned to consumer desires.

Wild Oregon Pink Shrimps MSC certified
Queens Products uses the MSC (Marine Stewarship Council) ecolabel on a large number of its fresh frozen fish products. The number of these MSC certified products is growing steadily.

Fresh frozen fish of Queens Products is frozen in immediately after catching. The time between processing and freezing is as short as possible. In this way the enzymes have no chance to change.

Queens Products suppliers’ receive detailed product specifications. Herein is stated in which way the fish must be processed for Queens Products, which inspection must be carried out and which data must be recorded.

For products that still cannot bear the MSC ecolabel, Queens selects a partner-supplier on the basis of the best possible way of careful and responsible production systems. For fish which is farmed, at the moment the company follows the guidelines of GlobalG.A.P. (Good Agricultural Practices).

Queens Panga Fillets from Vinh Hoan farms

Queens sources Pangasius for its products from supplier Vinh Hoan Corporation farms in Vietnam. Vinh Hoan Corp has developed the Green Fram farming programme based on AquaGap standards. AquaGap is the standards on good aquaculture practice applied to Pangasius.

Queens Tilapia from Regal Springs in Indonesia

Queens' Tilapia is sourced from Regal Springs Tilapia in Indonesia, a farm that created a ‘sustainable’ farming practice long before ‘sustainability’ became en vogue. Regal Springs’ mission was two-fold: to produce the best tilapia product and to build up the infrastructure of the communities with the subsequent profits. The formula worked. As the communities were strengthened, they became enthusiastic shareholders in the company’s growth.
