Multiexport and Mitsui will assess the development of a project focused on the production and commercialization of trout and salmon in Asian markets
Multiexport and Mitsui USA Sign Memorandum of Understanding

Multiexport Foods S.A., through its subsidiary Salmones Multiexport S.A., signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Mitsui & Co. (U.S.A), Inc., a subsidiary of the Japanese company Mitsui & Co. (USA), Inc., with the proposal to study and evaluate the feasibility of a project to cooperatively develop the cultivation, processing and commercialization of trout and coho.

The main objective is to address Asian markets, with particular focus in China, with the understanding that the project is not limited to these markets.

Both companies were given until December 7, 2012 to complete the studies, negotiations and signing of all documents and contracts deemed necessary to execute this joint project.
“This is the first step towards developing the Asian, and particularly Chinese markets. This joint initiative enables us to project and establish ourselves in these strong and positive markets,” said Andrés Lyon, the general manager of Multiexport Foods.
