Russian Fishery will direct additional volumes of frozen pollock fillets in the sea primarily to the Russian market.

Russian Fishery Company Increases Deep Processing of Pollock on Trawlers

  (RUSSIAN FEDERATION, 2/7/2018)

In 2018 The Russian Fishery Company (RFC) will continue to increase the share of production of pollock fillets frozen in the sea.

In December 2017, the Board of Directors preliminarily approved the investment in this project, and already in 2018 the
RFC plans to increase the fillet production by 60%.

The company will direct additional volumes of frozen pollock fillets in the sea primarily to the Russian market in order to meet the growing demand for quality fish products in Russia.

Russian Fishery harvest and product output.

As part of the program to increase the output of high-value-added products, the RFC has already converted production lines on four trawlers, which has already allowed a significant increase in the production of pollock fillets in 2017. The Company plans to equip up to six more vessels with filleting lines, and most of the modernization work will be carried out in the summer of 2018.

The primary fishing target species are Alaska Pollock and Pacific Herring.

"We consistently increase the share of output with high added value. In 2018, the Company plans to direct 30 to 40% of the pollock catch for fillet production, - said Andrey Teterkin, General Director of the RFC. "As we commission our new vessels - and we plan to build up to 9 modern super-trawlers in the next 5-6 years - the share of products with high added value will approach 95%."

The company's vessels harvest many sea species, including Pacific Salmon and Squid.

The increase in production and sales in the Russian market of high-quality frozen primary pollock fillets will reduce the volume of supplies to the international markets of the secondary frozen fillet, produced from Russian raw materials by Chinese shore processing enterprises. This will contribute to the Company's planned decrease in pollock production in Season B due to deeper processing of raw materials on its vessels.

The company will direct additional volumes of frozen pollock fillets in the sea primarily to the Russian market in order to meet the growing demand for quality fish products in Russia.
