Shore, a new Shrimp Group, has finalised its organisational structure. Owned by Bencis Capital Partners, German firm Ristic, Belgium-based Morubel, Costa Rican Rainbow Export Processing and Dutch company Telson are now organized under the umbrella of Shore.
The Europe-based conglomerate has also strengthened and reorganized its management, and welcomed Bart Verstichel as CFO, leading the Shore Group together with Edo Abels who already held the position of CEO.
Morubel's current production facility was built in 1993, incorporating a complete separation between low- and high-care zones and the implementation of very strict hygienic procedures.
Morubel and Ristic focus on sales in Europe, with Ristic targeting frozen and chilled markets in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and Scandinavian countries, and Morubel focusing on all other European countries.
Telson, which produces machine peeled North Sea shrimp, will process the entire chilled seafood range sold by Morubel and Ristic, which has been expanded to include organic and ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) certified vannamei shrimp, organic black tiger prawns a sustainable seafood mix, and MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) northern prawns.
Rainbox Export Processing, which grows vannamei shrimp in Costa Rica, will target the organic market in the United States.
CEO Edo Abels said, “With the new company structure set and a strengthened management team in place, Shore is ready to face an ambitious future. We are in an optimal position to serve our customers with the most sustainable and delicious chilled and frozen seafood offer”.
Morubel's various production lines for frozen seafood, retail and bulk packaging are constantly being updated and extended to ensure it is equipped with the most up-to-date technology.
Reinforcing the organisation on the management level, Alain Bockstaele, formerly of Marine Harvest and Icelandic Gadus, has joined the company as Operations Director; Henk Casteele, a specialist in the frozen food business, is the Commercial Director; and Ralph Sanders, formerly of Vichiunai Group and Morubel, has taken up the function of Shore’s Quality Assurance Manager. All three will be based at Morubel in Oostende, which is also the group’s headquarters.
