Biomega’s certification will help Omega3 consumers make a sustainable choice.

Biomega Natural Nutrients Earns Sustainable Certification for Omega-3

  (SPAIN, 12/18/2017)

Spanish Omega-3 manufacturer Biomega Natural Nutrients has achieved Friend of the Sea's certification for its soft gel capsules. The fish oil is extracted from anchoveta fished in the South East Pacific Ocean (FAO Area 87) only by purse seine fleets approved by Friend of the Sea.

Friend of the Sea's standard for sustainable fish feed, fish meal, fish oil and Omega-3 certifies that the oil originates only from fisheries compliant with Friend of the Sea’s sustainable fishing requirements and that a full chain of custody is in place throughout the supply and production chain.

Biomega Natural Nutrients, S.L. is specialized in the manufacturing of soft gel capsules, relying on a R&D team that develops new formulations for its own products as well as for third parties.

Additionally, Biomega was audited to ensure it meets Friend of the Sea’s requirements on carbon footprint reduction and offset as well as social accountability.

"The certification of Biomega’s products will help Spanish Omega3 consumers make a sustainable choice” comments Paolo Bray, Director of Friend of the Sea. “We hope that other companies will follow Biomega’ s steps towards environmental sustainability".

Biomega Natural Nutrients´ location ensures that the raw material selected is of the highest quality, all from the Galician fleet.

About Biomega Natural Nutrients

Biomega Natural Nutrients is a biotech company whose processing method is specifically designed to obtain oil with a high content of natural cold extracted Omega-3.

This means that, due to its advanced technology, no chemical solvents or high temperatures are used during this process that could compromise the quality of the final product.  As a result, the finished oil contains a high Omega-3 content maintaining its natural properties and biological activity.

Biomega Natural Nutrients offers encapsulation for third parties, be it of previously developed formulations by its team or oils submitted by the client.
