The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development of Andalusia opens the 2017 call for aid to professional organizations in the sector of aquaculture and fishery products (OPP), with a grant exceeding EUR 235,000.
These incentives are intended to cover actions taken by the OPPs in the framework of their 2016 annual production and marketing plans (EUR 135,512) and to support the creation and restructuring of these organizations carried out since 2014 (EUR 125,000).
The deadline for submission of applications is one month, until Monday, August 14, inclusively.
This aid, which is co-financed by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund, is granted on a competitive basis and, in the case of incentives relating to production and marketing plans, up to 90 per cent of the eligible investment can be made provided that the requirements established in the Order are met.
Possible beneficiaries of the subsidies include OPP associations, inter-professional organizations in the fisheries sector and the fisheries and aquaculture sector organizations themselves.
At present, in Andalusia there are eight OPPs recognized in the Autonomous Community: Pesqueros de Almadraba (OPP51), Marine Fisheries of Andalusia (OPP56), Fishermen of Carboneras SCA (OPP66), Bluefin Tuna and Swordfish Fisheries of Carboneras (OPP70), Fisheries of Almería (OPP71), Artisanal Fisheries of Conil (OPP72), Artisanal Fishers of the Strait (OPP78) and Fisheries of La Atunara (OPP79).
These producer organizations play a key role in achieving the objectives of the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) and the Common Market Organization (CMO), both in the field of capture fisheries and aquaculture. In addition, they are also influential agents to achieve the improvement of the commercialization of the products of the sector.
