While most stocks remain overfished, this is the first time in several decades that the GFCM has been able to report some positive trends.
After several decades of increasing man-made pressures on the ecosystems and fishery resources of the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, the most recent data suggest that overexploitation of the essential fishery resources of the region appears to be finally being overcome.
