As one of the largest, vertically integrated shrimp processors and suppliers in the U.S., we process more than 30 million pounds annually of Premium, Wild-Caught, Gulf of Mexico shrimp.
The Company is proud to count among its customers many of the largest broadline Foodservice Distributors, Specialty Seafood Distributors, Wholesale Distributors and Retailers in the U.S.
It all began in 1892…
when the original Paul Piazza began selling shrimp, fish and wild game in New Orleans’ French Market. As his reputation for quality grew, he upgraded to his own permanent stall in the famous market.?
Over the years, the business grew and expanded to what now occupies a full square block in the historic area of New Orleans.
Ironically, the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 is what fueled the company’s largest and most strategic expansion to-date.
A Standard of Excellence
That Has Endured.
In the words of Kristen Baumer, current President and great-grandson of Paul Piazza, “We looked at the storm’s destruction as an opportunity to not only rebuild but to reinvent our company by strengthening our sourcing capabilities and expanding our production capabilities to become the number one source for Premium Wild-Caught Gulf Shrimp.”
The future could not be brighter for Paul Piazza & Son, Inc. A solid foundation has been built for the tradition to continue for many generations to come. Our objective truly is to deliver The Perfect Shrimp while being The Perfect Partner.
