Westward Seafoods, a wholly owned subsidiary of Maruha Nichiro, was established in 1989 and started operations in 1991. In 2004, Western Alaska Fisheries merged with Westward Seafoods to form what is now known as Westward Seafoods Inc. With our main production plant in Dutch Harbor, focusing on Alaskan Pollock, and our Kodiak plant – Westward Seafoods has the ability to source more Alaskan fish and shellfish from the Bering Sea to the Gulf of Alaska, in order to better meet the demands of the world-wide growing market for quality sustainable seafood.
Today, Westward Seafoods continues to be a leader in Alaska’s seafood industry. The future is bright for Westward Seafoods as natural and healthy seafood nutrition becomes more important to consumers.
