INFOYU is the Chinese member of the FishInfoNetwork with its base in Beijing and operating center in Shenzhen. INFOYU was established by the Government of China with assistance from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN in 1997.
The FishInfoNetwork (FIN) consists of 7 independent intergovernmental and governmental organization those INFOPESCA (South and Central America), EUROFISH (Eastern and Central Europe), and INFOSA (Southern Africa), INFOSAMAK (Arab countries), EUROSFISH (Eastern and Central Europe), and INFOYU (China), plus the FAO based GLOBEFISH unit, situated in the Fisheries Department of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO).
