Seafood exports to the US and South American markets have been making up for drops in exports to the European Union (EU) caused by the latter's public debt crisis.
In the Mekong Delta, 20 pangasius (tra fish) processing plants responsible for 90 per cent of exports have been running at full capacity all month – to the extent that workers have even been working weekends so the companies can deliver products on schedule.
