Since 1960, Nor-Fishing has been an important national and international meeting place for the fisheries industry. Today it is one of the largest fisheries technology exhibitions in the world. In recent years, the exhibition has drawn around 15 000 visitors from about 50 countries. Innovations of importance to all sectors of the industry are presented here.
The fisheries industry has developed tremendously over the past fifty years, and technology, processes and services related to fishing, processing, transport and marketing have undergone an incredible development. All the major fishing nations are present either as exhibitors, visitors or in official delegations.
Modern fisheries is today a knowledge industry with very advanced technology. This is true within all sectors: electronics, vessel design, gear development, on-board handling and in the production of value-added products. The very latest developments and technological innovations are presented at Nor-Fishing.
More than 500 suppliers of technology have been represented at each of the last Nor-Fishing exhibitions.
The exhibitors all emphasize the importance of Nor-Fishing as a forum for meeting others in the industry, decision makers as well as procurement officers from the fisheries industry in Norway and other important fishing nations. Many also mention the good, informal contacts that are established, and the positive atmosphere during the exhibition. An excellent opportunity to meet suppliers, buyers and colleagues from many nations!
18. - 21. August 2020 - Trondheim Spektrum - Norway (SEE BELOW)
Dear exhibitors, visitors, suppliers, and all concerned,
It is with a heavy heart that the Nor-Fishing Foundation recognizes that the Nor-Fishing 2020 exhibition cannot be held as planned during the period 18-21 August. Last Saturday April 25th, the Norwegian Government decided to extend the ban on events that gather more than 500 people from June 15 to August 31.
The exhibition will not be postponed - Nor-Fishing 2020 going digital
It has been considered to postpone this year’s exhibition till May 2021. The feedback from the exhibitors shows that it is not relevant for a large number of the exhibitors. In addition, it will clash with many other trade fairs nationally and internationally. The Foundation has consequently concluded that a postponement to May 2021 is not a viable option.
Digital version of Nor-Fishing 2020
The Nor-Fishing Foundation is now looking at the possibility of organising a digital version of Nor-Fishing 2020. It has already been decided that the Student Day will be conducted as a webinar. There may be other parts of this year’s exhibition that we can carry out digitally. We will return with more information on this.
