The main attribute of Andromeda Group is the high quality and true freshness of its products

An Emerging Power in the Mediterranean Aquaculture Industry

  (GREECE, 6/24/2013)

Andromeda Group is one the fastest growing group of companies in the Mediterranean Aquaculture industry, with activity across Europe and with worldwide export power as well.

Achieving dynamic growth since its foundation until today, with the support of “Global Finance”, an independent investment firm, and the guidance of a highly experienced management team, Andromeda is developing into a dynamic group of companies aimed at establishing itself as the leader in Mediterranean Aquaculture.

Andromeda Group operates 2 hatcheries, one in Spain and one in Greece, and a pregrowing unit in Spain, with a total production of 75 million fries per year

The main attribute of Andromeda Group is the high quality and true freshness of its products; combined with a sophisticated distribution network that facilitates delivery of its products throughout Europe within only 48 hours from harvesting.

The conditions throughout the entire production cycle are ideal for creating top quality fry and consequently for growing healthy fresh fish with perfect shape, vivid colours and delicious taste.

In Andromeda Group farms, fry introduced in the sea comes directly from the company's hatcheries

Andromeda Group is vastly related with the production of high quality fry. The “genetic selection” program currently in place, is constantly improving the quality & performance of the fry production providing a significant competitive advantage to the company. Part of the fry production is used by the company itself, the company inputs the fry in its production units, and the rest of the fry production is traded to other fish farmers either in Greece and Spain or other countries.

Andromeda Group produced species are species that live and grow in the Mediterranean Sea Region, providing them a natural environment of growth.
Andromeda's fresh fish are graded into different size categories and packaged in 5, 6 or 10 kg boxes.

Andromeda Group owns three certified packaging facilities with an annual packaging capacity of 60.000 tons

Andromeda's main species include Gilthead Sea Bream (Sparus aurata), European Sea Bass (Dicentrarchus labrax), Meagre (Argyrosomus regius), Sharp Snout Sea Bream (Puntazzo puntazzo) and Common Red Sea Bream (Pagrus spp.).

Responding to consumer needs for high nutritional value-added products and the trend to save time while preparing everyday meals, we have developed a wide range of user-friendly, ready-to-cook, fish products covering modern consumer trends and needs.

About Andromeda Group

Andromeda S.A. was founded in 1998. In 2001 the company launched its first phase for the genetic selection program becoming a leading aquaculture company in Greece with consistent growth and superior results.

In 2006 SEEF acquires a majority stake in Andromeda and the second phase of Andromeda's genetic selection program is launched.

In 2007 the company made a strategic investment in a Sea Park and packaging facility in Igoumenitsa the nearest Greek port to Italy. The next year the third phase for the genetic selection program is launched. The company invests in a second hatchery in Western Greece and initiates the ‘Mediterranean project' with the acquisition of Acuimar Group in Spain and starts production in Albania.

Andromeda aquires in 2009 Niordseas SL in Spain; Piscimar in Spain in 2010 and Kalypso, Sargonaftes and Hydrokosmos in Greece in 2011 and completes a strategic agreement with Maremar in Spain.
