No contract, so seasonal and occasional users can now use Globalstar year round.

Globalstar Makes Satellite Communications Available to Everyone Throughout EMENA

  (REPUBLIC OF IRELAND, 9/17/2014)

Globalstar Europe Satellite Services Ltd. offers the lowest cost Pre-paid service in the mobile satellite services industry.

For the first time, consumers and commercial users can now benefit from the world’s most modern satellite network without a contract. Users including fishermen in the Atlantic, emergency aid workers in North Africa, leisure boat owners in the Mediterranean and Oil/Gas workers in the Nordics no longer need to worry about an annual contract when they only go beyond the mobile phone network on a sporadic or seasonal basis.

Thanks to Globalstar’s Pre-paid service, users can now more freely use their satellite phone, or someone else’s, whenever and wherever they wish.

Globalstar’s Pre-paid accounts can be topped-up with 10 different card denominations, five Personal and five Shared Pre-paid cards. Customers who simply want to use the phone for themselves can use Personal cards to activate and top-up their Pre-paid account while Shared Pre-paid cards are for those customers who may wish to loan their phone to family, friends or colleagues (e.g. a ship’s captain could provide his satellite phone to his crew for them to call home).

No contract, so seasonal and occasional users can now use

Globalstar is the only service provider in the mobile satellite service (MSS) industry to facilitate the use of Shared Pre-paid credit on already activated Post-paid Globalstar phones across all services. This new Shared Pre-paid service essentially turns every Globalstar handset into a satellite “pay phone.”

Globalstar customers now have a truly unique “triple advantage” of having access to the lowest cost Pre-paid service in the industry, with the most affordable satellite phone, on the world’s most modern satellite network in orbit.

Additionally, Globalstar customers continue to enjoy industry leading, crystal clear voice quality thanks to its patented Qualcomm-based CDMA technology.

“We want people to think of satellite communications in a whole new way,” said Globalstar President and CEO, Jay Monroe. “With Pre-paid service, satellite phone users have more freedom than ever before.”

Globalstar President and CEO, Jay Monroe.

“With the launch of our Pre-paid service, especially Shared Pre-paid, we are introducing entirely new groups of users to satellite telephony,” he continued. “If people were ever worried that using a satellite phone was beyond their reach, too expensive or too much of a contractual commitment, they now have a simple solution with Globalstar.”

Globalstar Pre-paid cards are offered in denominations of 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1,000 minutes.

The Interactive Voice Response (IVR) platform, which supports customers in topping-up, checking account balances and checking their voicemail is available in English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese and Arabic.
