Bantry Bay brand has now become Next Wave of Bantry.

Bantry Bay Seafoods Becomes New Wave of Bantry

  (UNITED STATES, 8/3/2018)

Bantry Bay Seafood, a privately owned company, was established in 1991 in Bantry, County Cork, Ireland. In fact, the company is the largest grower, processor and exporter of frozen value-added shellfish in Ireland.

Bantry Bay Seafoods got its start by innovating (and patenting) an award–winning technique for processing shellfish. The company takes freshly harvested, top-quality mussels and clean, vacuum pack, and freeze them with all the natural juices retained inside the shell. This process enables mussels to be available 12 months of the year.

Bantry Bay Seafoods' mussel farm is BAP certified.

In 2000, Bantry Bay Seafoods began selling mussels in the USA and created a whole, creating a new category in the grocery store – frozen marinated mussels. For the first time ever, consumers could buy frozen mussels in store, bring them home and make the kind of delicious meals that were only available in the finest restaurants.

Bantry Bay Seafoods expanded on its success by building a dedicated team to help create new recipes and new varieties, specifically for the U.S. market.

In 2006, Bantry Bay partnered with Mascato, a Spanish seafood company to build and operate a brand new mussel facility right next to the cold, clean waters of Southern Chile. At over 113,000 square feet, the company’s Blue Shell plant is the largest mussel plant in Chile (and the only one with its own, on-site pier). This ensures the freshest product, straight from the sea to the processing plant.

In 2000, Bantry Bay Seafoods began selling mussels in the US.

Bantry Bay Seafoods is a vertically integrated company, and has completely control of everything from growing its mussels, to harvesting, processing, packing and distributing them. That guarantees that it has full traceability from seed to the end product on your plate.

Next Wave Seafood brings appetizing mussels, clams, shrimp and fish from all over the world.

In 2011 Bantry Bay Seafoods became Bantry Bay America Inc. Since then, new exciting items and flavors have been added offering a diverse range of delicious and sustainable seafood products, without the use of any artificial colors, flavors, or additives of any kind. Bantry Bay brand has now become Next Wave of Bantry.
