Fair Northern Fish for European Consumers

  (FINLAND, 8/14/2018)

Hätälä is a Nordic market leader in premium fish products that sustainably produces fair northern fish close to the Arctic Circle in Finland. With 80 years of experience, Hätälä combines traditional handicraft with modern technology to create premium fish products.

Hätälä’s premium fish products are wrapped in beautiful high-quality packages. The company’s wide product range includes whole fish, fillets, and fish delicacies from farmed Norwegian salmon, wild Finnish fish, and farmed Scandinavian rainbow trout.

Hätälä Oy’s carefully controlled quality has been awarded the highest rating from the BRC.

Hätälä’s fish comes from the world’s purest arctic waters. The company’s  production facilities are situated close to the Arctic Circle and the clear waters of  Northern Norway, from which Hätälä  sources the freshest salmon. The salmon’s journey from Norway to the factory takes only 8-12 hours. This is why the salmon is always fresh.

Hätälä's production facilities are situated close to the Arctic Circle and the clear waters of Northern Norway.

Hätälä  works  with local fishermen buying its Finnish fish from professional Finnish fishermen. They are Hätälä’s valued partners and the company has worked with some of them for over three generations. Hätälä supports local fishermen by offering long-term contracts and assisting with transportation.

Hätälä has 400 professional Finnish fishermen as valued partners.

Hätälä Oy’s carefully controlled quality has been awarded the highest rating from the BRC. Hätälä is part of a select group of only 140 European food companies that have achieved the coveted AA rating. The company has also been certified by the MSC and the ASC.

Hätälä’s production lines use the latest technology to produce clean and evenly cut boneless slices.
