Ocean Signal products gives commercial fishing users the confidence that their equipment will work when it is needed most

Ocean Signal Launches New Products To Global Fishing Market

  (UNITED KINGDOM, 4/4/2011)

Communications and safety at sea manufacturer, Ocean Signal has introduced three technically advanced safety products to the commercial fishing market. Following extensive research and development by the company's highly experienced team of marine electronics specialists, Ocean Signal has created a series of GMDSS products which each display innovative and industry leading benefits.

SafeSea E100/E100G EPIRB

Ocean Signal has developed the SafeSea E100 and E100G to meet the needs of all commercial, fishing and leisure vessels. SafeSea EPIRBs operate in
 SafeSea E100
the 406MHz satellite band monitored by Cospas-Sarsat, the international satellite operator, ensuring a signal can be located wherever it is activated around the globe.

SafeSea EPIRBs are also fitted with a 121.5MHz homing beacon and a high brightness LED strobe light for fast on-scene location.

The SafeSea E100G benefits from a dedicated built-in GPS which sends a highly accurate position, greatly reducing search time. With the SafeSea battery operating life being the highest in the industry.

SafeSea S100 SART

The Ocean Signal SafeSea S100 Search and Rescue Transponder (SART) is a dedicated radar transponder which complies with IMO SOLAS regulations. The SeaSafe S100 SART is designed to assist in the rescue and recovery of liferafts and survival craft.

When switched on, the SART remains in a standby mode until automatically activated by an X Band Radar sweep from any vessel in the vicinity.

The SafeSea S100 transmits a series of pulses which are displayed on the ships Radar as a line of dots, providing a bearing to the survival craft.

The SafeSea EPIRBs and SART have been FCC approved and carry the MED Wheelmark certification for all vessels.

SafeSea V100 GMDSS Hand held Radio*

The new Ocean Signal SafeSea V100 is a rugged, fully featured hand-portable GMDSS radiotelephone complying with the IMO performance standards for use in survival craft and exceeding GMDSS environmental requirements. The radio is supplied with all 21 international simplex channels, as required by the regulations.

SafeSea V100 GMDSS Hand held Radio
Once again improving battery life has been a primary consideration in the development of the SafeSea V100.

A unique feature of the emergency Lithium primary battery is the battery protection tab which avoids inadvertent use. Only when the tab is broken off will the battery operate the radio, ensuring the pack is at full capacity when needed. The tab is not replaceable and the battery is clearly marked 'Used' underneath the tab. The battery is classified as non-hazardous for shipment and can be user replaced.

A highly efficient transmitter helps to maximise the battery life giving significant improvement over other products on the market. In addition, a Lithium Polymer rechargeable battery pack is available with rapid charger that can be desk or wall mounted, for day to day onboard use.

*Note re V100 - This device has not been authorized as required by the rules of the Federal Communications Commission. The device is not, and may not be offered for sale or lease, or sold or leased, until authorization is obtained.
