Norwegian net manufacturer expands in Spain

  (NORWAY, 4/16/2014)

The Mørenot Group has acquired 20 per cent of the shares in the company Delta Aqua Redes, based in Tarragona (Spain), which still belonged to the Greek giant Andromeda Group.

The Spansh company manufactures and services all types of nets for fish farmers in the Mediterranean area and also nets for tuna farming, an industry that has shown rapid increase in some of the countries around the Mediterranean.

According to what CEO in Mørenot Aquaculture and Chairperson in Delta Aqua Redes, Bente Lund Jacobsen, Mørenot now owns 100 per cent of the company, which today has a turnover of EUR 3 million and employ 25 people.

In 2011 the Mørenot Group purchased 80 per cent of the shares in Delta Aqua Redes from Andromeda Group. Delta Aqua Redes was already manufacturing and servicing nets, but as this was not the core business of Andromeda Group, they invited Mørenot in as a professional partner on these activities.

Export Manager, Nina Hildre, thinks that further commitment and growth in this market is a natural process for the company.

“We have appreciated working together with Andromeda Group and look forward to further cooperation with them as a supplier,” Bente Lund Jacobsen says.

Delta Aqua Redes has just signed a five year contract for service and supply of nets to Andromeda Iberica, the Group’s Spanish operation.

Managing director in Delta Aqua Redes, Albert Comas, is very satisfied with this agreement because he thinks that a long-term contract with one of the main actors in the Mediterranean market will have a significant impact on the future of his firm.

Mørenot Spain- Delta Aqua Redes is a subsidiary of Morenot Aquaculture in Spain. Mørenot Holding groups service leaders to markets such as fishing, aquaculture and offshore. In Spain its principal activities are the manufacture and maintenance of nets, sale of materials for aquaculture and conducting technical audits.
