Total imports of fresh and frozen tuna continue with volume and values ​​similar to those of January

Total imports of fresh and frozen tuna reached 11,802 tonnes in February, worth JPY 7,190 million at Japanese Customs. These figures are similar in volume and in value on those of January; whereas compared to February of the previous year they fall 5% in volume and 10% in value.

Imports of fresh tuna registered 901 tonnes, worth JPY 1,262 million at Japanese Customs, up 109% in volume and 58% in value on those of the previous month and down 13% in volume and 3% in value on those of February 2018.

As regards frozen tuna, imports during the month reported 10,901 tonnes, with a value of JPY 5,929 million.

These figures are similar in volume and up 2% in value on those of the previous month; compared with those of February 2018, they are down 4% in volume and 11% in value.
