Taiwan donates to Central American fisheries

The Taiwanese government has completed a USD 2.2 million donation aimed at a project which will "integrate" and train fisheries in Central America and the Dominican Republic, reported the Central American Integration System (SICA) on Saturday.
The PRIPESCA project promotes the "improvement of social and economic conditions for the fisheries and aquaculture sectors of isthmus through the strengthening of institutions, so that the fish can be used at their highest potential," read the statement by the Community agency.
"With the resources received, we will continue to strengthen the activities undertaken in each of the management plans, so as to develop harmonised methodologies and knowledge for the sustainable development of fisheries and aquaculture projects to continue," emphasised the statement.
