Over USD 977mln made by top 20 pangasius exporters in Jan-Nov 2012

Between January and November 2012, the top 20 pangasius exporters made USD 977.7 million worth of sales out of a total value of 1,597 million for this period, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
Vinh Hoan Corp came in first with USD 142.5 million, followed by Hung Vuong Corp with USD 103.4 million and Agifish in third place with USD 85.8 million. Next came Anvifish Co with USD 75.5 million in the fourth spot, and ranking fifth is Navico with USD 52.5 million.
In sixth place is IDI Corp with USD 51.3 million, followed by NTSF Seafoods ranking seventh with USD 46.7 million and Cadovimex ranking eighth with USD 39.8 million. Ranking ninth is CL-Fish Corp with USD 39.5 million and in tenth place is Dathaco with USD 38.3 million.
In November 2012, the tra industry exported nearly USD 141.9 million worth of fish products, down 4.3 per cent year-on-year. While exports to the European Union (EU) remained the highest, representing 21 per cent of the market, sales to the region fell by 11.8 per cent to USD 29.83 million.
Fish shipments to the US, representing 18 per cent of the market, declined as well, by 23 per cent to USD 25.5 million, while in contrast, Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), constituting 6.9 per cent of the market, consumed USD 9.74 million worth of pangasius products, up 7.3 per cent.
Mexico, taking up 7.5 per cent of the market, imported USD 10.7 million worth of pangasius, down 21.9 per cent. Next is Brazil, at USD 10.35 million, down 4 per cent and representing 7.3 per cent of the market, and China and Hong Kong at USD 5.9 million, up 14.6 per cent, constituting 4.2 per cent of the market.
Colombia imported products worth USD 5.4 million in November 2012, down 13 per cent, and Saudi Arabia imported SD 3.9 million, down 27.1 per cent. Other countries imported USD 40.5 million, up 30.6 per cent, and representing 28.5 per cent of the market.
