Pangasius export to Malaysia increased 25%

According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), as of the first half of August, 2019, the total value of Pangasius exports to Malaysia reached USD 27.1 million, up 25% over the same period last year. Currently, Malaysia is the second largest export market of Vietnam pangasius in ASEAN (after Thailand).
Currently, there are more than 25 Vietnamese Pangasius enterprises participating in exporting Pangasius to Malaysia market. It can be said that this is a remarkable market in the first half of this year. Until this time, outside of China, Malaysia is a market that many Pangasius exporting enterprises target with diversifying export products.

Currently, the average price of export pangasius to Malaysia has many levels, in which, the traditional frozen pangasius product ranges from 1.05-2.78 USD / kg. Average price (CIF) for exporting dried pangasius hypophthalmus products (HS code 030572) ranges from USD 14.5 - USD 17.5 / kg.
So far, Malaysia is the market with the highest growth in Pangasius export in ASEAN region. It is forecasted that in the coming time, exports to this market will continue to increase by 30% over the same period in 2018.
