Ministry of Production will launch three artisanal fishing landing sites this year
The Minister of Production, José Salardi Rodríguez, announced today that his sector is making all the preparations for the second season of anchovy fishing to begin the first week of November of this year.
The first fishing season has been very good in the north-central zone and we are making all preparations so that the second is also good and begins the first week of November, thus obtaining significant growth in GDP," he said.
He also stressed that the Government is making every effort to reactivate economic activity as quickly as possible.
"The great challenge is to ensure that the fall in 2020 does not exceed 10% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). And indicators are already appearing that give us a positive light in the face of what the future may be, "he said.
In this sense, the head of the Ministry of Production (Produce) mentioned that the sectors involved with the portfolio have had visibly favorable behaviors.
In addition, Salardi emphasized that they permanently work with the field of artisanal fishing.
He also indicated that the San José Fishing Landing in Chiclayo has already been put into operation, a work that involved more than 30 million soles in investment.
"Before the end of the year, we plan together with the National Fund for Fisheries Development (Fondepes) to start up another three landing sites in Moquegua, Arequipa and Tumbes, and for next year we plan to have another six more," he added.
