During the last five years, from 2014 to 2019, the average monthly imports were approximately 572 tons.
Imports fell around 51 percent taking into account the 280 tons imported in October, the government's customs report shows.
The main exporters of frozen striped fins are Argentina, the United States, Uruguay, New Zealand, Japan, Canada and Angola.
In the first 10 months of this year, Argentina exported 55 percent of its total volume, or 1,936 tons.
For the rest of the exporting countries the figures were 642 tons for the United States, 327 tons for Uruguay, 177 tons for New Zealand, 172 tons for Japan, 113 tons for Canada and 42 tons for Angola.
The total figure for 2019 is significantly lower than the previous years.
