The Baltic shipyard Yantar, part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation Group, delivered to the customer a multifunctional fishing vessel: 'Vasily Kaplyuk'. This is the third purse seiner built for one of the largest fishing companies in the Kamchatka Territory - the collective fishing farm named after Lenin Kolhoz. This was reported by the press service of the government of the Kaliningrad region.
The vessel is designed for purse seine, pelagic and bottom trawl fishing, with an RSW system, which allows to keep the caught fish fresh for a long time. The first two boats are already involved in the fishery.
“They more than met the expectations we had. The productivity of new trawlers is three to four times higher than that of replacement vessels. Trawlers can catch 450-500 tons per day, those vessels - a maximum of 150 tons. I would like to thank the shipyard for the quality of the construction of the boats. They showed themselves on the best side, ”said the president of the collective farm Sergei Tarusov, who was present at the ceremony.
The head of the Federal Fisheries Agency, Ilya Shestakov, reported that today 53 new modern fishing boats are being built in Russia. This series of vessels was built for the first time in Russia within the framework of the “keel quota” mechanism approved by the President of the Russian Federation in 2018, which involves expanding the volume of aquatic biological resources for investors.

"We are very hopeful that such a plan will be expanded and implemented, including in the coastal fishery, where there is also an important basis for updating the fleet," said Anton Alikhanov. - We hope to be able to build boats not only for Russian fishermen, but also to enter the international market and sell our boats for export. Because shipbuilding in Kaliningrad is carried out efficiently, cheaply and quickly. Therefore, I believe that we also have great prospects in export markets, ”said Governor Anton Alikhanov.
