Weekly movements of fishmeal and fish oil (Norway, China, Peru) Week 33-34

Through week 33, 531,611 tonnes of fish were destined for reduction at an average price of NOK 2.79 /kg, down 19% on the volume destined for such purpose during the same period in the previous year.

Prices and markets

China

At the beginning of week 34, inventories registered 277,000 tonnes. Volumes leaving the warehouses amounted to almost 25,000 tonnes during the previous week.

Peru

Producers decided to make their price positions more flexible and adapt to the reality of the market and the high inventory in China, which is getting closer to 300,000 tonnes. The stock not sold in Peru is below 40,000 t and prices were adjusted between USD 80 and 100 per t.

Chilean 67% fishmeal is at USD 1,575 and that produced in Iceland, 70%, at USD 1,855, both FOB Germany.
