Salmon exports reach new record

Shipments of Chilean salmon continue to exceed the figures obtained during the past year, for all species.
Until August of this year, exports of Atlantic salmon, coho and trout registered a new record, which projects 2019 as a new good year in financial terms for the Chilean industry.
This is how Chilean salmon exports reached USD 3,459 million during the January-August period, according to figures provided by the Central Bank, which implies an increase of 3.5% over the same period of 2018, when USD was recorded 3,342 million.
In a disaggregated manner, exports of Atlantic salmon and coho until August 2019 reached USD 3,110 million, or 2.6% more than in the same period of 2018, when revenues from shipments of these species reached USD 3,031 million.
Finally, in the case of trout, exports at the eighth month of 2019 amounted to USD 349 million, while in the same period of 2018, USD 311 million was reached, growing 12.2%
