Excelent pelagic season

The catch of pelagic fish species exceeds the last year by 93%

According to the FSBI CSMS, the total catch of sardine iwashi, mackerel by Russian fishermen as of September 20 amounted to 156.9 thousand tons, which is 82.7 thousand tons more than in 2019. (+93.3% of the 2019 level).

In the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of Russia, the catch is 141.8 thousand tons (+69.3 thousand tons to the level of 2019), in the open sea - 2.7 thousand tons, in the EEZ of Japan, 12.4 thousand tons were caught. tons.

The main share of the catch for the current period is Iwashi sardine - 140.9 thousand tons (+71.3 thousand tons), the catch of mackerel - 15.9 thousand tons (+12.5 thousand tons). Catch of saury a little over 40 tons

Wild salmon in the far east

As of September 21, the production of Pacific salmon amounted to 281,029 tons (only 43% compared with the same period of the record year 2018).

In the Kamchatka Territory, 191.4 thousand tons were mined (caught), which is 38.5% of the level of 2018. In the Sakhalin region, 49.2 thousand tons were produced, (49.4%), in the Khabarovsk Territory - 32.2 thousand tons (83.6%), in the Magadan region - 5.3 thousand tons (74.8% ), in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug - 1.9 thousand tons (64.6%). In the Primorsky Territory, the total production volume is 937 tons (101%).

The total increase in the catch of Pacific salmon in the Sakhalin region for the week amounted to 4,739 tons, the average daily catch was about 677 tons, which is higher than last week (625 tons). The increase is mainly due to the Sakhalin chum salmon. The pink salmon fishery is over, the total catch amounted to 33.7 thousand tons.

The chum salmon fishery is developing, more than 13 thousand tons have been caught.

In the southern Kuriles, the chum salmon is just beginning, the catch was 455 tons. The increase in catches here is expected from the beginning of the third decade of September with a maximum in the first decade of October.
